A photographer is born.
In October 2019 I bought myself a Canon T6 and some kit lenses as an early birthday gift. I started taking photos every day of everything I saw and all the people I hung out with the most, like every beginner photographer does. My 19 year old self wasn’t yet aware of the potential that I was creating every time I turned on that camera.
I had entered FIT in the Fall 2022 semester. I was about to turn 22, it was my first year semi-permanently living in New York City, and at this point I still knew next to nothing about photography as an art, let alone a science. Who knew learning the basics about lighting started with a book on the physics of light?
